Daniel Boone Homestead to host trick or treat, hay rides, fall festival

The Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead and Exeter Township are working together to bring the community a fun-filled day to celebrate Halloween on Oct. 27 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Safe trick or treating throughout the historic area of the Homestead will occur between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Visit with costumed interprete­rs and learn a bit about Daniel Boone and life in the eighteenth-century. Ride in the hay wagon between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Visit the petting zoo between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. In addition, many other activities are planned for the event including face painting, corn holes, crafts, barrel train rides, and bouncy houses. Tickle your taste buds with a variety of food vendors and food trucks and listen to live musical entertainm­ent in the early evening.

Exeter Township is also sponsoring a food drive for the local food bank and a Toys for Tots collection at the event. Please bring an item or two for
