Farm holds Bless­ing of the An­i­mals

Ry­erss Farm for Aged Equines on Route 23 in War­wick Town­ship was the site of the 28th an­nual Bless­ing of the An­i­mals event. The non-denominational ser­vice is the re­sult of a 12th and 13th cen­tury cus­tom started by a Catholic Monk, Saint Fran­cis of As­sisi. Rev. Will Humes, pas­tor of Coven­tryville United Methodist Church, per­formed the bless­ings for horses re­sid­ing at Ry­errs and area an­i­mals brought in to the farm by their own­ers.
