EXETER 28, DANIEL BOONE 14>> At Birdsboro Oct. 26, Jeremiah Nixon ran for 110 yards for one touchdown and had a key 29-yard reception in the Eagles’ victory over the Blazers in the Pig Iron Bowl.

Tommy Buchert had touchdown runs of 72 and three yards for Boone. He led the Blazers’ ground game with 100 yards. Field hockey EXETER 4, STATE COLLEGE 0 >> At Shillingto­n Oct. 24, Peyton Halsey and Ella Maillie each had a goal and an assist to lead the Eagles to a District 3-AAA first-round win over State College.

Ariana Kline and Katie Roper completed Exeter’s scoring. In goal, Gabby Boyer needed to make only two stops to get the clean sheet. Girls soccer EXETER 2, GOV. MIFFLIN 1 >> At Shillingto­n Oct. 23, Marina Messner scored from 35 yards away with 4:09 to go in the second OT as the No. 10 Eagles defeated the No. 7 Mustangs in the opening round of the District 3-4A playoffs.

Jackie Richards scored the equalizer from 22 yards out with 11:50 remaining in

regulation for Exeter (14-5). Gillian Maack scored on a free kick just outside and to the right of the box for Gov. Mifflin (12-7-2). CUMBERLAND VALLEY 3, EXETER 0 >> At Mechanicsb­urg Oct. 27, the Eagles kept it scoreless in the first half but couldn’t hold off No. 2 Cumberland Valley in a District 3-4A second round game, ending Exeter’s season.

Gillyan Dewbrew’s 12save goaltendin­g was the highlight for Exeter (14-6) Boys water polo EXETER 10, PERKIOMEN VALLEY7>> At Albright College Oct. 22, Luke Scoboria scored four goals to lead the Eagles over the Vikings.

James Creamer, Brandon Noecker, and Chris Scoboria scored two goals each for Exeter (18-10). Girls water polo PERKIOMEN VALLEY 10, EXETER 4 >> At Albright College Oct. 22, the Eagles (29, 4-17) got goals from Asley Cregar, Lana Jordan, Catherine Rolon, and Taylor Stech in a loss to the Vikings.

Kailey Hughes had a five-save game in goal for Exeter (2-9, 14-7) while Emi McDonough added another four stops. GOV. MIFFLIN 16, PENNRIDGE

7>> At Shillingto­n Oct. 23, Emilie Gerhard had eight

goals and an assist to lead the Mustangs into the state tournment.

Emma Steckiel added four goals for Mifflin. With the win, the Mustangs were the No. 4 seed for the PSWPL Tournament that started Friday at Wilson. GOV. MIFFLIN 12, VILLA MARIA5>> On Oct. 26, the Mustangs were led by Ava Enriquez who had seven goals and two assists in a win over Villa Maria in the Pennsylvan­ia State Water Polo Championsh­ips.

Courtney Novotny and Emma Steckle also scored two goals apiece for Mifflin. Emilie Gerhard (five assists) completed the Mustangs’ scoring.

WILSON 7, GOV. MIFFLIN 6 >> At Wilson Oct. 27, Ava Enriquez and Emma Steckiel had two goals for GM. CUMBERLAND VALLEY 10,

GOV. MIFFLIN 9 >> On Oct. 27, Emilie Gerhard had three goals and an assist and Emma Steckiel had two goals and an assist as the Mustangs fell to Cumberland Valley in a PSWPL consolatio­n match.

Camryn Hubric and Morgan McMahon each added a goal and assist for Mifflin (21-8), with Ava enriquez and Courtney Hubric completing the point production. The Mustangs end the 2018 season fourth in states.
