Exeter Community Library patrons get crafty

Fine Artist Susan Camarata will be at the Exeter Community Library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, for a class in creating hand-painted holiday signs.

Camarata holds a degree in fine art and owns and operates a small business called Make, Take, and Enjoy where she enjoys sharing her love of art with those who wish to learn how to create special, personalized gifts.

On hand-painted lettering, Camarata says, “I’ve noticed in the last few years that this special technique seems to be dying out since stencils and vinyl letter cutters have taken over the craft world.” She’s excited to teach lettering at the library, where participants will craft a seasonal-themed wooden sign.

The event is $15 per person to cover the cost of materials, though Camarata says 20 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the library. Those interested in attending are asked to register in person during the library’s operating hours. Payment is due at time of registration. Space for the program is limited to 25 people, so the library recommends registering early to ensure a spot.

Make, Take, and Enjoy is one of many events offered to the public through a partnership between program presenters, Friends of the Exeter Community Library, and The Exeter Community Library.
