Win­terfest ush­ers in Amity’s 300th an­niver­sary cel­e­bra­tion

AMITY >> The ar­rival of 2019 isn’t the only rea­son Amity Town­ship de­cided to throw a com­mu­nity cel­e­bra­tion. The old­est mu­nic­i­pal­ity in Berks County turns 300 this year and of­fi­cials kicked off a year of fes­tiv­i­ties by host­ing Win­terfest at the com­mu­nity park off Weaver­town Road on New Year’s Day. Hun­dreds of town­ship res­i­dents en­joyed a va­ri­ety of fun ac­tiv­i­ties, in­clud­ing a bon­fire and a live mu­sic from Dou­glassville’s own Stephanie Grace.
