AMITY >> The arrival of 2019 isn’t the only reason Amity Township decided to throw a community celebration. The oldest municipality in Berks County turns 300 this year and officials kicked off a year of festivities by hosting Winterfest at the community park off Weavertown Road on New Year’s Day. Hundreds of township residents enjoyed a variety of fun activities, including a bonfire and a live music from Douglassville’s own Stephanie Grace.
