State police at Reading announce enforcement results
The Pennsylvania State Police Troop L of Reading announced the official results of the New Year’s Holiday Enforcement period.
The enforcement commenced at midnight on Saturday, December 29, 2018 and concluded at midnight on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
Troopers specifically focused on apprehending motorist who operated their motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Enforcement concentrated on moving violations consisting of speeding, reckless driving, seat belt violations and child seat belt infractions.
During the New Year’s Holiday Traffic Enforcement Period of 2018 - 2019, Troop L, which responds to incidents in Berks County, Lebanon County, and Schuylkill County, Troopers investigated a total of 41 crashes and made 29 DUI arrests.
Of those 41 crashes, three involved alcohol and two people were injured.
Additionally, troopers wrote hundreds of other citations during the enforcement. Those citations included 618 speeding citations, 11 child passenger seat citations, 64 seat belt citations, six warnings for safety belt violations and 538 other traffic citations.
The Pennsylvania State Police at Reading will conduct Easter Holiday Enforcement which will commence at midnight on Friday, April 19, 2019 and conclude at midnight on Sunday, April 21, 2019.
