New AutoZone Auto Parts store to open Feb. 4 on Route 422
Dunkin’ Donuts, Taco Bell also to be located at Route 422 site
AMITY >> The developer of AutoZone’s newest retail establishment on Route 422 said he plans to open the store for business on Monday, Feb. 4.
Amity Township Supervisors conditionally approved the land development plans in July 2017.
Bill Rountree, director of development at Wright Partners, Philadelphia, has been working since then to secure tenants for the site’s phase two businesses.
AutoZone will share the 5-acre site at at 1123 Benjamin Franklin Highway with two quick service restaurants and an office building along Route 422, just west of Maplewood Drive.
Dave Weaver, senior project manager at Penn E&R Inc., Hatfield, said Jan. 9 that Taco Bell is “preliminarily approved” to be one of the site’s quick service restaurants.
The other restaurant will be Dunkin’ Donuts, which will relocate there from its current Douglassville site at 955 Benjamin Franklin Highway.
Weaver didn’t disclose tenants of the office building.
In other business, the Board of Supervisors unanimously elected Kimberly J. McGrath as board chairperson for a sixth year.
Supervisor David Hackett was unanimously approved as vice chairman.
The Planning Commission voted unanimously on Jan. 9 for Paul R. Weller to continue as chairman, and for Julie Marburger as its new vice chairman.
