Chaunce Johnson led Daniel Boone with a gamehigh 21 points. READING HIGH 65, GOV. MIFFLIN 51 >> At Shillingto­n Jan. 14, Wesley Butler had 28 points and Daniel Colter 15 as the Red Knights beat the Mustangs to move into a first-place tie with Wilson.

Bryce Black scored 22 points, hitting 10-for-11 from the line, to lead Gov. Mifflin. GOV. MIFFLIN 35, EXETER 31>> At Shillingto­n Jan. 17, Bryce Black scored 14 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter as the Mustangs (33, 7-8) came back to beat the Eagles (2-4, 7-7).

CamRon Stewart had nine points for Mifflin. Alex Javier and Anthony Wise each had seven for Exeter.

Girls basketball

HAMBURG 37, DANIEL BOONE 35>> At Birdsboro Jan. 15, Julie Harbonic scored 16 points to lead the Hawks over the Blazers.

Courtney Gabbett had a game-high 17 points for Boone. TWIN VALLEY 45, EXETER 28 >> At Geigertown Jan. 15, Ava Morrow hit three of her six 3-pointers in the third quarter to help the Raiders pull away from the Eagles and stay in a first-place tie.

Twin Valley led 20-15 at halftime before Morrow scored 11 of her gamehigh 22 points in the third quarter when Twin Valley opened a 38-22 lead. Peyton McDaniel scored 19

points for Twin Valley. For Exeter, Kelly Fetter scored 17 points. GOV. MIFFLIN 53, READING HIGH 41 >> At the Geigle Complex Jan. 15, four Mifflin players scored in double figures, led by Ta’Shonna Wright Gaskins with 13, and the Mustangs knocked off the Red Knights.

Destiny White and Sydney Payne hit 3-pointers early in the third quarter to extend Mifflin’s lead to 37-20. Reading was never within single digits again. Kayla DelVecchio finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Mifflin.

GOV. MIFFLIN 43, EXETER 27 >> At Reiffton Jan. 17, Destiny White scored nine points and Ta’Shonna Wright and Kayla DelVecchio each had eight as the Mustangs (42, 9-6) defeated the Eagles (1-5, 6-10), who lost their fourth straight.

Jordan Davis and Michelle Mesquita had six points apiece for Exeter. SCHUYLKILL VALLEY 50, DANIEL BOONE 38 >> At Birdsboro Jan. 18, Madison Ziska and Julia Kowalski combined to score 13 points in the second quarter when the Panthers (4-2, 7-10) took the lead for good in a win over the Blazers (0-6, 5-10).

Kowalski finished with 18 points and Ziska with a career-high 17. Courtney Gabbett scored a career-high 22 for Daniel Boone. ABINGTON 64, GOV. MIFFLIN 49>> At Shillingto­n Jan. 19, Destiny White had 14 points and Stella Mollica added 10, but the Mustangs (9-7) still fell to the District 1 heavyweigh­t Ghosts.

Wrestling

WILSON 34, EXETER 32 >> At Reiffton Jan. 15, the Eagles rolled to a 26-0 lead before the Bulldogs rallied to pull out the win and move into a first-place tie with Daniel Boone.

Anthony Steinmeyer started Wilson’s comeback with a 12-second fall. Exeter won eight bouts but surrendere­d four forfeits. Patrick Borja and Brandon Borton scored falls for Exeter. Three straight forfeits gave Wilson a 34-26 lead with two bouts left and the

Bulldogs held on as Exeter scored a pair of one-point decisions in the final two bouts. DANIEL BOONE 43, READING

HIGH 16 >> At Reading Jan. 16, pins by Quinn Foley and James Hogan headed the Blazers’ victory over the Red Knights, one that maintained their perfect run through the dual-match season.

Both Foley (170) and Hogan (138) scored their falls in the first period, around the minute-and-a-half mark. Devin Dolla started Boone (6-0, 11-0) off with a major decision at 152 while Brady Barton (285), Chase Stehman (120) and Canton Dolla (126) added decisions around three forfeits. >> At Oley Jan. 16, Tim Furman, Jevin Guldin, Patrick Borja and Brandon Borton recorded pins as the Eagles (2-4, 6-5) defeated the Lynx (1-5, 3-8).

Exeter’s point total was bolstered by eight forfeits.

MUSTANGS SWEPT >> Gov. Mifflin lost both ends of a three-way match. The Mustangs fell to Dallastown 61-7 and Hempfield 46-31.

EXETER DUALS >> The Eagles swept their weather-revised Blue/White Duals, going 3-0 in matches they wrestled. Exeter took its contests with Upper Perkiomen 4824, Oley Valley 49-18, and Downingtow­n West 42-30.

Patrick Borja (120), Roland Entzminger (126), Brandon Borton (132/138), Connor Lender (145/15), Chase Guldin (152/160) and John Miller (160/170) all went 3-0 on the day for Exeter. Wrestling

READING HIGH 100, DANIEL BOONE 73 >> At Reading Jan. 17, Chris Guiliano won two individul races to head the Blazers in their meet with the Red Knights.

Guiliano headed the 100 free (48.12) and 100 breast (1:04.47). He also swam the anchor leg on Boone’s winning 200 free relay, teaming with Justin Eves, Jacob Santos and Jesse Wounderly for a 1;35.63 clocking.

EXETER 107, SCHUYLKILL VALLEY 74 >> At Leesport Jan. 17, Luke and Chris Scoboria each won pairs of individual races to lead the Eagles in their meet with the Panthers.

Luke took firsts ins the 200 free (1:51.18) and 100 free (50.22), with Chris doing the same in the 200 IM (2:04.66) and 100 fly (57.34). They also swam legs of Exeter’s winning 200 free (1:32.12) and 400 free relays (3;31.75). GOV. MIFFLIN 110, EXETER 76

>> At Shillingto­n Jan. 14, Aiden McCurley and Shane Stauffer each won pairs of individual races to head the Mustangs in their Central Penn League meet with the Eagles.

McCurley won the 200 IM (2:00.37) and 100 free (48.39), with Stauffer doing the same in the 50 free (22.20) and 100 back (55.95). Luke Scoboria was a tworace winner for Exeter, scoring firsts in the 200 free (1:46.87) and 100 fly (55.65). CUMBERLAND VALLEY 117, GOV. MIFFLIN 66 >> At Cumberland Valley Jan. 17, Noah Clipman and Aiden McCurley won individual events to head the Mustangs’ showing in their non-league meet with Cumberland Valley.

Clipman took the diving competitio­n with a score of 234.60 points, and McCurley headed the 100 free with a 48.65 time.

READING HIGH 108, DANIEL BOONE 68 >> At Reading Jan. 17, Rachel Woomer won the Blazers’ lone individual races in their meet with the Red Knights.

Woomer took the 200 IM (2:18.55) and the 100 breast (1:12.51). SCHUYLKILL VALLEY 104, EXETER 79 >> At Leesport Jan. 17, Arlana Shchuka and Taylor Stech were the Eagles’

lone winners of individual events in their meet with the Panthers.

Shchuka scored 188.60 points to head the diving competitio­n, and Stech took the 100 back with a 1:06.84 clocking. Exeter also won the 400 free relay, clocking a 4;14.26. GOV. MIFFLIN 135, EXETER

51>> At Shillingto­n Jan. 14, the Mustangs came close to winning all events in their Central Penn League meet with the Eagles.

Individual firsts for GM went to Camryn Hubric (200 free, 2:11.03), Emma Steckiel (200 IM, 2:11/14), Connar Melcher (50 free, 25.56), Morgan MacMahon (diving, 220.20 points), Aubrey Miller (10 free, 59.47), Julia Peticca (500 free, 5:44.50), Becca Brown (100 back, 1:04.98) and Emilie Gerhard (100 breast,1:17.09). Exeter’s lone win was claimed by Camille Griffith in the 100 fly (1:05.84). GOV. MIFFLIN 112, CUMBERLAND VALLEY 74 >> At Cumberland Valley Jan. 17, Ava Enriquez won two individual events to lead the Mustangs in their non-league meet with Cumberland Valley.

Enriquez took the 200 IM (2:11.20) and 100 fly (57.04). She also swam a leg of Mifflin’s winning 200 free relay (1:38.13).

DANIEL BOONE 3, EXETER 0 >> At Jay Lanes Jan. 14, Alex Horten’s 707 series sparked the Blazers in their match with the Eagles.

Boone’s other high scorers were Zarek Herold (652) and Trevor Wilkinson (641). Leading Exeter were Zack Prizer (578) and Tanner Schwenk (565).
