Police officers honored for enforcement efforts
Officers, departments target aggressive driving
Berks County police officers were recently recognized for their dedication to aggressive driving enforcement.
PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Aggressive Driving Enforcement and Education Project and the local Community Traffic Safety Project honored area law enforcement officers for their exceptional participation in the program.
Each individual who received an award was nominated by their department’s chief for their efforts.
Berks County Coroner Dennis Hess, who also previously worked in law enforcement, presented officers with the awards.
“I get what you guys are doing and, as coroner, I really appreciate what you guys are doing,” said Hess. “I get it because when we go out and we have fatal crashes and stuff, you have to deal with the families and things like that. That’s when you really learn how important this is.”
