Coraline Trumbauer, 7, a Daisy Girl Scout in Troop 1061, recently donated 23 boxes of cookies to Café Esperanza.

“Our neighborhood doesn’t always get to partake in Girl Scout cookies and we think we will really enjoy sharing them with our patrons,” said Emily Wolfe, café hospitality manager, in an email.

The cafe, 105 W. Greenwich St., is a mission of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, 601 N. Front St. and is modeled on the nonprofit organization One World, Everybody Eats. Esperanza means “hope” in Spanish. The nonprofit restaurant also provides a community gathering space for art, music, education and job training.

Trumbauer sold more than 250 boxes of cookies through direct sales this year, much more than her goal. Patrons could direct sales for Cafe Esperanza or Hometown Heroes donations.

The Girl Scout annual cookie sale was completely online this year. Supporters were able to place orders, pay online and select either shipping or curbside contactless pickup.
