Hamburg grad Lutz named to all-region team
Hamburg grad Erica Lutz, a senior women’s basketball player at Lycoming, has earned all-region honors from D3hoops.com.
The 6-0 forward was named to the All-Atlantic/Mid-Atlantic second team. She is the first player in the program history to earn such an honor.
Last week, she also became the program’s first MAC Scholar Athlete.
Lutz led the MAC Freedom in scoring (16.2) and rebounding (11.3) this season. She also finished second in the league in field goal percentage (.527), sixth in free throw percentage (.760) and blocked shots (1.2) and seventh in assists (2.5).
She finished the season 18th in NCAA Division III in rebounding (11.3) and 90th in scoring.
Lutz finished her career with 901 points, crossing the 900-point plateau with her last bucket of the season against Stevenson on March 18.
She was the fourth player in program history to reach 25 career double-doubles and also finished her career with a programbest .527 field goal percentage.

KIPP SELECTED TO PLAY IN NCAA REGIONAL » Muhlenberg grad Tyler Kipp, a freshman at California University of Pennsylvania , has been selected as an individual qualifier to the 2021 NCAA Atlantic/East Region Championships, which will be held at the Lake View Country Club on May 6-8 in North East, Pa.
The top-four teams from each super regional and top individual from a non-advancing team will advance to the NCAA National Championships to be held at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., from May 17-21.
Kipp was one of six individuals selected to the super regional championships, which features 16 team qualifiers.
Kipp is averaging 76.1 in five events this spring.
He registered a top-10 finish in each of his last three tournaments, including a third-place finish at the PSAC Championships.

Murphy finished 3-for-5 with a ninth-inning grand slam. He leads Rowan (11-1, 13-3) with six homers.
