Caruso helps Raiders get past Daniel Boone

Twin Valley running back Dominic Caruso scored two touchdowns to lead the Raiders to a 19-10 nonleague victory over visiting Daniel Boone Friday night.

Caruso finished with 130 yards and the team’s only two touchdowns on 26 carries.

Twin Valley’s defense kept the Blazers out of the end zone in the first half, despite the Blazers getting good starting field position following two interceptions by Raiders quarterback Evan Myers.

Twin Valley (2-0) led off the scoring with a safety on a bad snap on a punt by Daniel Boone.

The Raiders extended their lead to 5-0 on a 26-yard field goal by Matthew Puccino on the ensuing possession.

Daniel Boone (0-2) got on the board with a 36-yard field goal by Nate Millard in the second quarter.

Caruso scored his first touchdown on a 4-yard run, which capped a 98-yard Twin Valley drive that made it 12-3. The longest play in the game came on a 66-yard catch by Raiders receiver Trey Freeman, which extended the drive.

Freeman finished with five receptions for 98 yards.

Daniel Boone answered with a 10-yard run by J.T. Hogan.

Hogan finished with 17 carries for 160 yards and a touchdown. He also recovered a fumble on defense.

Caruso put it away with a touchdown on another 4-yard run with 3:48 left.

Daniel Boone’s defense forced three turnovers (two interceptions and one fumble recovery). Riley Brady and Alex Vassallo each had one interception. Hogan forced and recovered the fumble.

Myers went 13-for-20 for 181 yards and two interceptions.
