Muhlenberg snaps 26-game losing streak
Muhlenberg snapped a 26game losing streak with a 38-6 win over Reading High in a Berks Football League Section 1 game Friday at Shirk Stadium.
The Muhls (1-4, 1-9) hadn’t won since Oct. 26, 2018, when they beat the Red Knights at Shirk Stadium in a season finale. Muhlenberg followed with an 0-10 season in 2019 and 0-7 last year before starting this season 0-9 under second-year coach John Lorchak.
Aaron Shuker scored three touchdowns for Muhlenberg, two on interception returns and one on a 65-yard run. Brody Faessen scored twice in the first half, on a 12-yard reception and a 6-yard run, as the Muhls took a 14-0 halftime lead.
Quarterback Adam Zaorski closed Muhlenberg’s scoring with a 42-yard run.
DeShawn Wilson scored on a 12-yard run for Reading (03, 1-7).
