Tigers 5th in 2A hockey, Bulldogs 4th in 3A fourth in 3A

Casey Lynn Dewald scored her second overtime game-winning goal in four days Saturday to lift Fleetwood to a 3-2 win over Hershey in the District 3 Class 2A fifth-place game at Lower Dauphin.

Dewald scored with eight minutes left in overtime to give the sixth-seeded Tigers (18-5) the win over the eighth-seeded Trojans (1010). Dewald also scored the game-winner in overtime on Wednesday to give Fleetwood a 4-3 win over Garden Spot.

Lauren Breisch and Amy Fitzgerald scored in regulation for Fleetwood, which will open the PIAA Tournament Tuesday at the District 7 champion.

Central York 2, Wilson 1: At Lower Dauphin, Emilee Myers scored her second goal of the game in the fourth quarter to break a tie and lift the sixth-seeded Panthers (19-5-1) over the fourth-seeded Bulldogs (176) in the District 3 Class 3A third-place game.

Erika Culp scored in the first quarter off an assist from Kayla Wilkes to stake Wilson to a 1-0 lead. Myers scored in the second quarter and again in the fourth for Central York.

Wilson will open the PIAA Tournament Tuesday on the road against the District 1 runner-up, either Conestoga or Garnet Valley.
