St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road, Obelisk

Nov. 21: The Rev. Christian McMullan will conduct the 8 a.m. Holy Communion and 10:15 a.m. Praise services in the church at. All are welcome. We require all church service attendees to wear a mask and practice social distancing of at least 6 feet. We will not be singing as we are accustomed to. Please do not attend services if you feel sick. Weekly services are also offered online via the St. Luke’s Obelisk YouTube Channel. It is our hope and prayer that everyone stays safe and well during these difficult times.

St. John’s Evangelica­l Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown Nov. 24: Thanksgivi­ng Eve worship service at 7 p.m.

Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto

Nov. 21: worship on this Christ the King Sunday with a Holy Communion worship service at 9 a.m. Pastor Matthew Finney will be leading the congregati­on in the worship service and preaching the sermon. Our assistant for the 9 a.m. service will be Sue Hoffman and our Greeter/Usher is Butch Fox. Altar Guild this morning will be Diane and Bruce Houck and Counting Team is “A”. Prior to the worship service, Coffee & Conversati­on will be held at 8:30 in the Welcome Center and then after worship there will be Coffee & Conversati­on as well. The Adult Sunday School Bible Class will be held in the parlor after the worship service. The Confirmati­on class will meet in social hall at 10:15 a.m. As per the CDC guidelines for indoor gatherings and as discussed at last month’s Council meeting, it is recommende­d that parishione­rs wear a mask when entering the church, during worship and upon leaving.

Nov. 21: Church Council meets at 7 p.m. in the parlor.

Nov. 24: Christ Lutheran will be partaking in the Ecumenical Thanksgivi­ng Eve service at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Bally at 7 p.m. Pr. Matt Finney will be giving the sermon for the service.

Nov. 26: Pr. Matt’s office hours will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Nov. 21: join us in the sanctuary for worship at 9:30 a.m. on the 25th Sunday of Pentecost. The sermon text for the day is Hebrews 10:1925 — The way to God opened through Christ’s death. (24) And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, (25)not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouragin­g one another, and all the more as you see the Day approachin­g.

Community Clothing Rack: will be open Nov. 17 and 24 for shoppers. Masks and physical distancing are required. Enter through far door — sanitize hands — four clients will enter with a 20 minute shopping time limit — exit through hall door — again — sanitizing hands. Restrooms will not be available for client use.

PJ Project: In conjunctio­n with the Boyertown Area Multi-Service, they would like to create “Elf Bags” for needy families for Christmas Eve and are looking for our help to fill these bags. The items needed besides new Children’s Larger size pajamas (10/12 & 14/16), Adult Size pajamas for older children (Small-XL), Family games for older children (Card Games, Sorry, Monopoly, etc.), Monetary donation to purchase items needed, hot chocolate packets and microwave popcorn packet. Please bring your donation to the box in the Narthex.

Nov. 24: Community Thanksgivi­ng Eve Service at 7 p.m. at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Bally. Joint choirs from each congregati­on will sing. A Free Will Offering will be taken for the Boyertown Area Multi-Service Fuel Fund. Donations of canned goods will be accepted for the Boyertown Area Multi-Service Food Pantry. Refreshmen­ts will be served following the service. Come on out and give thanks with our brothers and sisters in Christ from other congregati­ons.

Christmas Cantata has returned: We will have a repeat performanc­e of “Rhapsody in Bluegrass” under the direction of LaRue Sheetz, on Dec. 12 at the 10:30 worship service. Snow date and encore performanc­e will be Jan. 3 at 3 p.m. All are invited.

Scout Troop 511 Hoagies:

There will be no hoagie sale in December, will return in January. The sales will be the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Orders will have to be placed on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Price increased to $5.50 each for ham, turkey, Italian or cheese with lettuce, onion, tomato, sides hot peppers or sweet peppers, Italian or mayo packets. To volunteer and to order as a new person, see Kitty Isett. Pick up at the old store.

WAWA Hoagie Coupons:

Available 1st Sunday of the month at the Scrip Table. Coupons are also available in the church office Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $4. This project benefits the Social Ministry.

PJ Project: We are continuing to collect gently used or new pajamas or sweatpants for children and adults. All sizes male/female would be appreciate­d. Please bring your donation to the box in the Narthex.

In Ian’s Boots: is accepting used sporting equipment — used cleats, balls, pads, guards, whatever, gently used shoes and boots — to distribute to needy children and youth developmen­t programs both here and around the world.
