16 Berks girls named to district all-star teams

Sixteen girls from Berks County high schools were named to the District 3 Class 4A and Class 3A all-star teams by the Pennsylvan­ia Volleyball Coaches Associatio­n, it was announced Friday.

Exeter senior outside hitter Maddie Forry and Wilson sophomore outside hitter Kassidy Means were voted to the 4A first team.

Wilson sophomore middle hitter Airyanna Kline and Wilson sophomore setter Cameryn Niedrowski were selected to the second team. Gov. Mifflin senior middle hitter Sophia Leaf and Exeter senior setter Jenna Gehris were voted to the third team.

In 3A, four Berks girls were named to the first team: Berks Catholic senior libero Jillian Avadanian, Berks Catholic senior setter Kate Barbon, Twin Valley senior setter Alyssa Green and Twin Valley junior outside hitter Emma Lessick.

Five Berks girls made the second team: Twin Valley senior middle hitter Laura Beigel, Fleetwood senior middle hitter Celeste Cook, Berks Catholic sophomore opposite hitter Olivia Jones, Berks Catholic senior outside hitter Caroline Reedy and Twin Valley senior opposite hitter Juliet Simmet,

Schuylkill Valley junior outside hitter Delaney Yeakle made the third team.
