Twin Valley falls to Freeport in quarters

The Twin Valley girls volleyball team’s deepest postseason run ended Saturday with a 3-1 loss (2426, 25-22, 25-14, 25-21) to Freeport in a PIAA Class 3A quarterfinal at Bald Eagle Area High School in Wingate.

Alyssa Green had 43 assists and 15 digs for the Raiders (20-7), the thirdplace finishers in District 3 who were making their first PIAA Tournament appearance.

Laura Biegel had 11 kills and two blocks for Twin Valley, Emma Lessick had 16 kills and 15 digs and Jordyn Robinette had 11 kills and 11 digs.

District 7 champion Freeport advanced to Tuesday’s semifinals and will play Hampton or Armstrong.
