Winifred Roberta Pitzonka

Winifred Roberta Pitzonka, age 95, of Bally, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Winifred was born August 7, 1926, in New Berlinville, Pennsylvania.

Winifred is survived by her daughter Sandra J. Bender (Herbert L.); her mother (deceased) Etta (Stahl) Rothermel and her father (deceased) Enoch Rothermel; her grandson David A. Bender (Kristine R.).

Winifred is also survived by two greatgrandchildren, Shane A. Bender and Calista M. Bender.

Winnie, as she was known, was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and friend to so many. She began her working career in the family’s belt business at the age of 16, Rothermel Manufacturing, which later became Harness House, a division of Manhattan Industries (Accessories Division). She retired in 1985 from her role as Customer Service.

Winnie was a member of Butter Valley Community Church, and life-long organist, pianist, and vocalist. She performed and competed in barbershop quartets, among other musical endeavors.

Winnie’s zest for life was contagious to all her knew her. Her generosity and Christian spirit touched everyone along her life’s journey.

A memorial service for Winifred will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Butter Valley Community Church, 2600 Old Route 100, Bally, PA 19503. A visitation will be held prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name can be made to the Butter Valley Community Church, Bally.
