The Children’s Home of Reading (CHOR) has responded to the needs of children and families in crisis in Berks County and surrounding communities for over 135 years. We have evolved to meet the needs of the community and have become a respected leader in assisting youth with behavioral and mental health issues.

CHOR’s unique service model is dedicated to providing trauma-informed care approaches to healing, where every child/families’ needs are respected, informed, connected and hopeful regarding their own recovery. CHOR aims to work in a collaborative way with adolescents as well as their families and other human service agencies in a manner that acts in their continued best interest.

CHOR’s comprehensive programs help families heal through treatment, education and counseling serving over 110 children and their families annually throughout Berks County and the Lehigh Valley.
