Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto

Jan. 9: worship on this the Baptism of Our Lord with a worship service at 9a.m. Pastor Matthew Finney will be leading the congregati­on in a Holy Communion worship service and preaching the sermon. Our assistant for the 9a.m. service will be Terry Flicker and our Greeter/ Ushers are Gerry Flicker and Nancy Fioriglio. Altar Guild this morning will be Jamie Johns and Counting Team is “C”. Prior to the worship service, Coffee & Conversati­on will be held at 8:30in the Welcome Center and then again following worship. The Confirmati­on class will meet in social hall for class at 10 a.m. The Adult Bible Study Class will be held at 10a.m. in the parlor.

Jan. 11: 11:30a.m. the ladies will meet in the parking lot to carpool to Freddy & Chino’s in Hereford for a noon lunch. At 6:30p.m., the Cemetery Board will meet in the Welcome Center and then at 7:30p.m., Finance will meet in the Welcome Center.

Jan. 12: Handbell Choir will rehearse at 6:30p.m. followed by Senior Choir at 7:30 p.m.

Jan. 9: Baptism of Christ Sunday at Pennsburg UCC 9:30a.m. Message “Out of the Water.” Youth Fellowship 6p.m. PUCC. As a reminder, and with the increase in the Covid-19variants, the consistory teams recommend the wearing of masks by everyone. If you have not received the vaccinatio­n for COVID-19 we strongly recommend wearing a mask. Jan. 22: Calvary UCC will hold a 25Cent Clothing and More Sale, plus we will open the doors to the Lower Level Indoor Flea Market. Doors to the building open at 8a.m. and close at 11a.m.

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road, Obelisk

Jan. 9: Pastor Christian McMullan will conduct 8 a.m. and the 10:15a.m. Holy Communion services in the church. All are welcome. All church service attendees required to wear a mask and practice social distancing of at least 6feet. We will sing the hymns with masks on. Please do not attend services if you feel sick. Weekly services are also offered online via the St. Luke’s Obelisk YouTube Channel. It is our hope and prayer that everyone stays safe and well during these difficult times.

Jan. 9: Join us in the sanctuary for worship at 9:30 a.m. as we celebrate the second Sunday of Christmas. On this day, the gospel message is Luke 3: 15-17, 21-22. The baptism of Jesus with the descent of the Holy Spirit. The sermon for the day will be presented by Michael Romasco. The lector for the day is Kathy Billger.

Community Clothing Rack: will be open for shoppers on

WAWA Hoagie Coupons: Available 1st Sunday of the month at the Scrip Table and in the church office Monday to Thursday, 9a.m. to 2p.m. Tickets $4. This project benefits the Social Ministry.

Scout Troop 511 Hoagies: sales on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Place orders on the 2nd Tuesday. $5.50each for ham, turkey, Italian or cheese with lettuce, onion, tomato, sides hot peppers or sweet peppers, Italian or mayo packets. To volunteer and to order as a new person, see Kitty Isett. Pick up will be at the old store every month.

PJ Project: donate gently used or new pajamas or sweatpants for children and adults, all sizes male and female. Place donation in box in the Narthex.

In Ian’s Boots: donate used sporting equipment to distribute to needy children and youth developmen­t programs both here and around the world.

Puzzles: available to borrow in the cabinet labeled “Puzzles” in the Parish Hall.
