Meet the Artist opening reception: noon to 3 p.m. with drinks and hors d’oeuvres at Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care, 120W. Fifth St., Boyertown. Julie Longacre art gallery opens Jan. 8to Jan. 31, 9a.m. to 6p.m. A multitalen­ted published writer, artist and photograph­er, Longacre is comfortabl­y proficient in any medium, watercolor, oil or acrylic. The majority of her work is realistic and subjective in nature, but her paintings encompass a variety of subjects, moods, and color forms. Masks are required while on-site.

Jan. 11 Free dementia support series — The Gift of Music:

6:30-7:30p.m. at Keystone Villa at Douglassvi­lle, Personal Care and Memory Care, 1152Ben Franklin Highway E. Free, three-part dementia support series presented by Lori Dierolf from Open Door Training and Developmen­t. Music can elicit emotions and memories that reconnect a person’s past and promote in-the-moment connection­s with caregivers and others with dementia. RSVPs appreciate­d. Call Sue

Fit and Fabulous Wednesdays: 9a.m. at Birdsboro Community Memorial Center. Exercise class for seniors to improve balance, strength, flexibilit­y, and overall mobility while moving to music. Taught by a licensed physical therapist. Chairs provided. Exercises customized to fit ability. Free for members.

Birdsboro Senior Group:

meets the first and third Thursday of each month at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor in Birdsboro. Doors open at 9a.m. Anyone age 55and older from the Birdsboro area welcome. Bingo on first Thursday and craft on third Thursday, both start at 9:30a.m. A home cooked meal is served at noon.
