April 15: Good Friday Community Service at four locations (including Pennsburg UCC) will host the beginning prayer and walk of four pieces of the cross which will be taken to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Pennsburg. The gathering time will commence at noon at each location. The Good Friday worship service will take place at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Pastor Dave will be preaching.

Maundy Thursday: service at 7 p.m. for holy communion, and the stripping of the altar.

Good Friday: service at 7p.m. The large, wooden cross will be carried down the center aisle and left for people to reverence as they leave the building in silence.

Easter Sunday: Our interim pastor, Pastor Susan Folks, will lead us in worship as we celebrate Christ’s rising from the dead at our 9:30 a.m. worship. Communion will be celebrated. The lector for the day is Dave Janzow.

We continue to take precaution­s: all services will be livestream­ed, listen on 91.3FM, or watch as we livestream at stlukegilb­ertsville.org. Community Clothing Rack: will be open on April 20 and 27 for shoppers. Masks and physical distancing are required. Enter through far door — sanitize hands. Four clients will enter with a 20 minute shopping time limit. Exit through hall door — again — sanitizing hands. Restrooms will not be available for client use.

April 17: Easter Sunrise service of Holy Communion at 6:30 a.m. beginning in the cemetery. Immediatel­y following the sunrise service, there will be Coffee Hour, hosted by the FUN Committee, in the Welcome Center. A Holy Communion Easter worship service will be held at 9a.m. Rev. Matthew Finney will lead the congregati­on in the worship services and present the sermon. Our assistants for the 6:30 a.m. service will be the Bartman children — acolyte; TBD — lector; TBD — Communion Assist; TBD — Assisting Minister; and Roxanne and Butch Fox — Usher/ Greeter. At the 9a.m. service worship helpers will be Hunter Francisco — acolyte; Denise Hoffman — lector; Nancy Fioriglio — Communion Assist; Denise Hoffman — Assisting Minister and our Greeter/Usher are Shirley and Merle Deery. Altar Guild this morning will be Kathy Watts and Counting Team is “C”.

April 19: Endowment committee meets at 7 p.m. in the Welcome Center.

April 20: Handbell Choir will rehearse at 6:30 p.m. and the Senior Choir will rehearse at 7:30 p.m.

Scout Troop 511 Hoagies: Sales are the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Place orders on the 2nd Tuesday. Price is $5.50 each for ham, turkey, Italian or cheese with lettuce, onion, tomato, sides hot peppers or sweet peppers, Italian or mayo packets. WAWA Hoagie Coupons: Available 1st Sunday of the month at the Scrip Table and in the church office Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $4. This project benefits the Social Ministry.

PJ Project: donate gently used or new pajamas or sweatpants for children and adults, all sizes male and female. Place in box in the Narthex.

In Ian’s Boots: donate used sporting equipment for needy children and youth developmen­t programs both here and around the world.
