Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto

May 29: worship service at 9 a.m. on this Seventh Sunday of Easter. Rev. Matthew Finney will lead worship and present the sermon. At the 9a.m. service worship helpers will be open — acolyte; Sue Hoffman — lector; Sue Hoffman — Assisting Minister and our Greeter/Ushers are Shirley and Merle Deery. Altar Guild this morning will be Kay and Jim Barr and Counting Team is “D”. Prior to the worship service, Coffee & Conversati­on will be held at 8:30 in the Welcome Center and then again after worship at 10:15 a.m. May 30: church office closed to celebrate Memorial Day.

June 3: Pastor Matt’s office hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road, Obelisk

May 29: Pastor Barbara Pence will conduct 8 a.m. Holy Communion service in the church and Joyce Brothers will conduct the 10:15 a.m. service in the church. All are welcome. Masks are optional for those who are vaccinated. We require all church service attendees to wear a mask and practice social distancing of at least 6 feet if not vaccinated. Please do not attend services if you feel sick. Weekly services are also offered online via the St. Luke’s Obelisk YouTube Channel. It is our hope and prayer that everyone stays safe and well during these difficult times.

May 29: Our interim pastor, Pastor Susan Folks, will lead us in worship as we celebrate the seventh Sunday of Easter. Communion will be celebrated. Dave Janzow is lector. The gospel lesson for the day is John 17:20-26 Jesus prays that the disciples will be one and abide in his love.

Community Clothing Rack: open June 1 for donations and June 8, 15 and 22 for shoppers, from 1 to 4 p.m. Masks and physical distancing are required. Enter through far door — sanitize hands. Four clients will enter with a 20 minute shopping time limit.

God’s Wonder Lab Vacation Bible School: will be July 25 to 29.

Social Ministry of Trinity Sundaes for Childhood Cancer: $5 per wearable Sundae (not edible) with a surprise inside and yellow cancer ribbon pins for $2. Available every Sunday in May or until sold out. Monetary donations appreciate­d also.

Thrivent T-Shirts: all different sizes and designs on table in Parish Hall, take as many as you like.

Scout Troop 511 Hoagies: sales on 3rd Tuesday of the month. Place orders on the 2nd Tuesday. $5.50 each for ham, turkey, Italian or cheese with lettuce, onion, tomato, sides hot peppers or sweet peppers, Italian or mayo packets. To volunteer and to order as a new person, see Kitty Isett. Pick up at the old store. No hoagie sales June, July and August.

WAWA Hoagie Coupons: Available 1st Sunday of the month at the Scrip Table and in the church office Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $4.00. This project benefits the Social Ministry.

PJ Project: donate gently used or new pajamas or sweatpants for children and adults all sizes male and female. Place in box in the Narthex.

In Ian’s Boots: donate used sporting equipment for needy children and youth developmen­t programs both here and around the world.
