Automotive museum set to open
Features private collection of Louis J. Mascaro
Louis J. Mascaro has been preparing for years to put his extensive car collection on display.
And now that longawaited day has finally arrived.
The Louis J. Mascaro Automotive Museum will welcome visitors for the first time on Sunday.
The museum, located along Main Street in Birdsboro, will open its doors to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and continue to do so every following Sunday with additional days and hours to be scheduled in the future. People interested in visiting the museum will be treated to an exhibition of unique and exotic automobiles.
Mascaro, one of the owners of local waste company J.P. Mascaro & Sons, said he has spent a lifetime building the collection and is now displaying those cars to the public at a newly constructed building.
“I am excited to finally have in one location my private collection of exotic cars, motorcycles and trucks to share with the public to enjoy,” he said. “The LMAM is set up for and will eventually host special private group events by using a reservation system.”
Mascaro said automotive enthusiasts will have the opportunity to view and photograph limited-production,
high-performance cars that are in mint condition. These vehicles, he said, are part of one of the most premier private auto collections in the country.
The museum is operated as a nonprofit charitable foundation whose purpose is to promote education and
support area programs and efforts that benefit and assist autistic children and children with Down syndrome. Individuals and groups who visit the museum will also be supporting those worthy causes.
Museum admission is $15 per person and $12 for groups of four or more individuals. No children under
10 are allowed in the museum without special permission. Special events can be held at the museum by reservation only.
