Oct. 16: worship service being led by Pastor Matt Finney and presenting the sermon on this the 19th Sunday after Pentecost. During the service, we will bless the quilts assembled by members of the congregati­on. The service worship helpers for the morning will be open — acolyte; Diane Houck — lector; Denise

Hoffman — Assisting Minister; and our Greeters/Ushers are Shirley and Merle Deery. Altar Guild this morning is Diane and Bruce Houck and Counting Team is “A”. Confirmati­on class will be held at 10:00a.m. in room I and the Adult Sunday/Bible Class will be held also at 10a.m. in the parlor. Pastor Matt Finney will have office hours on Friday, Oct. 21 from 10a.m. to 1p.m.

Oct. 18: the Endowment Committee will meet in the Welcome Center at 7p.m. Oct. 19: Handbells will rehearse at 6:30p.m. followed by the Senior Choir rehearing at 7:30 p.m.

Oct. 16: The Rev. Barbara Pence will conduct the 8a.m. Holy Communion service in the church and Dennis Faust will conduct the 10:15a.m. Praise Service in the Fellowship Hall. All are welcome. Masks are optional for those who are vaccinated, although they are strongly recommende­d. We require all church service attendees to wear a mask and practice social distancing of at least 6 feet if not vaccinated. Please do not attend services if you feel sick. Weekly services are also offered online via the St. Luke’s Obelisk YouTube Channel. It is our hope and prayer that everyone stays safe and well during these difficult times.

Oct. 15: from 8to 11a.m. we will hold our locally famous 25cent clothing sale & a pop-up indoor/outdoor yard sale. Vendors are welcome to set up outdoors, registrati­on and set-up begins at 6:30a.m. at the basketball net. The cost to be a vendor is a $10donation per space, bring your own tables as they are not provided.

Sunday: Our interim pastor, Pastor Susan Folks, will lead us in worship at 9:30 a.m. as we celebrate the 19th Sunday after Pentecost. Communion will be celebrated. Pat Hallman is lector. The gospel lesson for the day is Luke 18: 1-8, where the woman begs for justice; God grants justice to those who cry to him. There will also be a service of healing. A special welcome to Matthew Harris, who is serving as our substitute organist for the day. Welcome home, Matt.

Annual Craft Show: Saturday, Oct. 15 from 9a.m. to 1p.m. features returning crafters including Seashells, Creative Lights, Bears, Bowl Cozies, Handmade Cards, Placemats, Christmas Frames, Christmas Items, Jewelry and Homemade Candy, as well as Used Book Sale and TLC Stitcher items. Refreshmen­ts will be available to purchase.

Operation Christmas Child: we are collecting filled shoe boxes for children with such items as school supplies, small toys, hygiene items, T-shirts, socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips. Include the “How to Pack A Shoebox” insert along with a check for $10. Filled boxes must be returned to church by Nov. 13.

PJ Project: In conjunctio­n with the Boyertown Area Multi-Service, Trinity would like to create Elf Bags for needy families for Christmas Eve and are looking for our help to fill these bags. The items needed include new children’s larger size pajamas (10⁄12 & 14⁄16), Adult Size pajamas for older children (SmallXL), family games for older children (card games, Sorry, Monopoly), monetary donation to purchase items needed, hot chocolate packets and microwave popcorn packet. Place donation in box in the Narthex by Nov. 20.

WAWA Hoagie Coupons: Available 1st Sunday of the month at the Scrip Table and in the church office Monday to Thursday, 9a.m. to 2p.m. Tickets are $4. This project benefits the Social Ministry.

Scout Troop 511 Hoagies: sales will be the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Place orders on the 2nd Tuesday. Price increased to $6each for ham, turkey, Italian or cheese with lettuce, onion, tomato, sides hot peppers or sweet peppers, Italian or mayo packets. To volunteer and to order as a new person, see Kitty Isett. Pick up will be at the old store.

In Ian’s Boots: donate used sporting equipment for needy children and youth developmen­t programs both here and around the world.
