Berks Women2Women to host Annual Conference + Expo
ATHENA Award will also be presented
Berks Women2Women (W2W), a special program of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), will host its 12th Annual Conference + Expo on Thursday, April 20 from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s event will be held at the Santander Performing Arts Center, 136 N 6th St., Reading.
Attendees will have the opportunity to network with other women engaged in community and mentorship and explore many women-owned, Berks County businesses, according to a press release.
The keynote speaker for the event it Betsy Hamm, CEO of Duck Donuts, who will share her “Circle of Success.” She will tell her story, along with several leadership lessons she has learned during her career.
The event also will honor the chamber’s 2023 ATHENA Award recipient. The ATHENA Leadership Award is presented to a woman/man who is honored for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills. The GRCA has awarded the ATHENA to 37 distinguished women in the Berks community since 1993, according to information on the GRCA’s website.
In addition, attendees at the April 20 event will have the opportunity to attend three breakout workshops featuring different speakers:
• Scott Blair, senior director, diversity, equity and inclusion at B. Braun Medical, will present
“Creating a Successful Game Plan with DEI.” This session will explore the value add of DEI to an organization’s strategy and ways to create sustained commitment and buy-in for all to meet the needs of our diverse communities, customers and employees.
• Jenna Armato, owner of Jenna Armato Growth & Success Coach, will share “Bridging the Multigenerational Gap,” which will explore each of the five generations currently in the workplace and how to take steps toward creating a generational synergy.
• Total Experience Learning Team led by Adelle Schade, founder, will present “Learning is Ageless: Becoming a Better Leader & Learner” in which attendees can learn and teach others how to become a better leader.
Registration is required for this event. For GRCA members, the cost is $100 for and all-day pass which includes breakfast and lunch; $125 for nonmembers which includes breakfast and lunch. To attend just the breakfast and the keynote address, the cost is $40, while attendance for the afternoon ATHENA presentation is $40. Register at greaterreading.org.
