Aesthetic hobbies, like painting, can be relaxing and purposeful to someone with Parkinson’s disease. APRIL 23 Honey Bees at French Creek State Park:

2 p.m. at French Creek State Park Headquarte­rs where a hive is located, 843 Park Road, Elverson. The Friends of Hopewell Furnace host a free program. Justin Schiffler, a seasoned hobbyist beekeeper who operates Hat Trick Honey Bee Yard, will discuss nonnative agricultur­al livestock honey bees and the art of making local raw honey and other healthy hive products. According to Joseph Walker, honey bee hives were kept near Hopewell’s Big House during the 19th century. Today, French Creek State Park features seven bee hives in the park.
