WASHINGTON - John Danyen McLendon passed away on July 14, 2024. Danyen was born March 15, 1996, in Cedar City, Utah to Vicki and John Shannon McLendon. The family resided in Cedar City, along with his two older sisters, Sharlie and Audrie. His parents later divorced. When Danyen was 6 years old, he moved to St. George, Utah with his mother when she married Scott Werner, they added two additional sisters, Cloie and Sofie.

Danyen graduated from Desert Hills High School in 2014 and moved to Dallas, Texas to attend Lincoln Tech in the Welding Department. Upon graduation, Danyen returned to Southern Utah where he resided with his family.

In 2022 Danyen graduated Magna Cum Laude in Business Administra­tion from Dixie State University. Using his skills and passion to make a positive impact on the world, Danyen was employed at the DOVE Center, where he was the Human Resources Manager and Executive Assistant.

Danyen loved spending time hiking outdoors in nature and with family and friends. He was the most thoughtful and considerat­e person you could ever imagine, always available to help his family with any needs.

He was always the sharpest dressed at any event; Known for his ties with matching pocket squares and wearing the perfect watch.

Danyen had a brilliant mind and spoke with an eloquence that exceeded anyone he was in a conversati­on with. In his everyday life, he lived his truth. He was environmen­tally conscious, compassion­ate to the needs of the world, and aware of the pain that others endured. Danyen was the absolute best uncle, a phenomenal brother, an adoring son, and a cherished grandson. To be in his world was a gift to all of us.

He inspired his family with his commitment to personal developmen­t. His sense of humor was spot on and his hugs and that adorable smile just made you feel better.

Danyen is survived by his mother, Vicki Werner; father, John Shannon McLendon; sisters: Sharlie (Michael) Thorpe, Audrie (Chris) Frehner, Cloie Werner, and Sofie Werner; grandparen­ts: Wayne and LoyAnn McLendon, Shariel Blackmore, and Cathy Martinez; nephew, Kieran Frehner; niece, Vhari Frehner; step siblings: Nathan, Ricky, Kristal, Steven, and Camille; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved and adored him as well as his closest friends Devin Troyner and Brad (Sarah) Hanks. He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Scott Werner and grandfathe­r, Jim Blackmore.

In tribute to his love of the great outdoors, we will honor our cherished Danyen at a Celebratio­n of his life, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at Maxwell Park (1750 Maxwell Pkwy, Hildale, Utah).
