Two neighbors threw punches over a snake, according to county police department reports.

Officers were called to Prior Station road on June 23 regarding a fight. According to reports, a man told police he got into a fight with his nextdoor neighbor over discussion of a snake.

His neighbor came to his yard while he was doing outdoor work and wanted to show him a snake he caught the day before. The man said he didn’t care to see it.

Later, a friend came over to visit and the two decided to see the snake. While commenting to the neighbor about the snake, a debate started about what type of snake it was, reports said. The two neighbors began a verbal altercation and that escalated to punches.

Neither man pressed charges. Officers told them to stay off each other’s property.
