Emily “Emme” Jo Wheeler of Snel­lville, age 66, passed away June 24, 2014.

She is sur­vived by her lov­ing hus­band of 50 years, Bobby Wheeler, son Rusty and Lisa Wheeler, son Ken Wheeler and Doug Blue, grand­chil­dren Katie, Jamie, Jake and Jesse Wheeler, an ex­tended fam­ily of close friends and count­less sons and daugh­ters that she hap­pily col­lected through­out her life.

She is pre­ceded in death by her par­ents Joe and Ruby Cox of Cedar­town and son Joey Wheeler.

Emme was born in Rome on July 1, 1947, and lived in Cedar­town and Mable­ton dur­ing her younger years. She at­tended Camp­bell High School in Smyrna. She and her fam­ily moved to Snel­lville in 1977 where she raised her 3 sons, helped raise her grand­chil­dren and many more who found their way through her kitchen door.

Emme’s open arms, open heart and warm smile was al­ways wel­com­ing to any and all. Ev­ery­one she met be­came fam­ily.

A Cel­e­bra­tion of Emme’s life was held on Fri­day, June 27, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Eter­nal Hills Fu­neral Home. The fam­ily will re­ceived-friends on Thurs­day evening at Eter­nal Hills Fu­neral Home in Snel­lville.
