Hilda Joyce Bul­lock Lyle, 76, of Ma­ri­etta, died Satur­day, June 21, 2014. Born April 30, 1938 in Polk County, Joyce was raised in Rock­mart by her par­ents Roy Wil­liam Bul­lock and Ida Ethel (Manor) Bul­lock, both from Polk County.

Mrs. Lyle re­tired for the Cobb County School Sys­tem as a bus driver for 30 years and also worked in var­i­ous school lunch­rooms be­tween bus runs. She was of the Bap­tist faith and had been a mem­ber of Pied­mont, Cal­vary and East­side Bap­tist Churches.

From 1965 to 2002, Joyce vol­un­teered as a coun­selor and bus driver for church youth groups and se­nior cit­i­zens. She also taught Sun­day School, and helped or­ga­nize and di­rect func­tions for the Cobb Chris­tian Sin­gles Min­istry and the Se­nior Cit­i­zen Min­istry in Cobb County.

In 1996 she vol­un­teered her time and many tal­ents driv­ing ath­letes and other vol­un­teers for the At­lanta Olympic Games.

Mrs. Lyle is pre­ceded in death by hus­band, Hoyt La­mar Lyle, and is sur­vived by son, Mark Anthony Lyle and wife Stephanie of Ma­ri­etta; daugh­ter La­monda Lyle Har­ris and hus­band Dean of Ma­ri­etta; two won­der­ful grand­chil­dren Matthew and Jonathan Har­ris; brother Terry R. Bul­lock and wife Clara and their chil­dren and grand­chil­dren.

A me­mo­rial visi­ta­tion was held on Wed­nes­day evening, June 25 at Ma­ri­etta Fu­neral Home, lo­cated at 915 Pied­mont Road, Ma­ri­etta.
