Hobby Lobby ex­pects Sept. open­ing in Rome

OK­LA­HOMA CITY — Hobby Lobby of­fi­cials say they ex­pect to open their Rome store in Septem­ber.

Con­struc­tion and ren­o­va­tions have be­gun on the 49,000 square-foot build­ing for­merly oc­cu­pied by Club Fit­ness, lo­cated at Shorter Av­enue and Horse­leg Creek Road in the Mid­Town Cross­ing shop­ping cen­ter.

“We are ex­cited to bring our unique store to the com­mu­nity,” stated John Schu­macher, as­sis­tant vice pres­i­dent of ad­ver­tis­ing.

The store will bring about 35 to 50 jobs to the com­mu­nity — pay­ing $15 per hour for full-time and $10 per hour for part-time as­so­ciates. Store hours are Mon­day through Satur­day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. All Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sun­days.

This is the pri­vately held na­tional craft and home decor chain’s 30th lo­ca­tion in Ge­or­gia.
