Tal­la­toona CAP, Inc. has an­nounced there is no wait­ing and no lines for el­i­gi­ble in­di­vid­u­als re­ceiv­ing LIPHEAP heat­ing as­sis­tance.

Se­nior house­holds, 65 and older, can sched­ule an ap­point­ment via the web­site at www.tal­la­ or by call­ing the ap­point­ment line.

Home­bound in­di­vid­u­als can sched­ule an ap­point­ment by call­ing 770-8174666 or toll free (706 area code) at 770-773-7730.

The pub­lic can sched­ule an ap­point­ment on the web­site or call­ing the ap­point­ment line be­gin­ning Dec. 1, 2014.

Ap­point­ments are sched­uled on a first come, first serve ba­sis. Those seek­ing help are asked not to walk into the lo­cal Tal­la­toona CAP of­fice seek­ing an ap­point­ment. Staff can­not sched­ule ap­point­ments for heat­ing as­sis­tance.

The Polk His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety is sell­ing rib­bons for $1.00 and or­na­ments for $5.00 to place on the “In Mem­ory and Honor Tree”. The tree will be placed be­hind the His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety dur­ing the month of De­cem­ber.

Vis­i­tors will be able to view or­na­ments any time at the Polk County His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety Foun­tain Gar­den.

Rock­mart Cul­tural Arts Cen­ter will be site of a “Hol­i­day Gift Show” on Novem­ber 7. For more in­for­ma­tion, call Laura Robin­son at 770-684-7578.

Polk Board of Health will meet at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Polk County Health Depart­ment, 125 East Ware Street, Cedartown.

South­side Bap­tist Church, 409 Cobb Street, Cedartown, Ga. will be in re­vival start­ing at 6:30 p.m. Sun­day, Nov. 9.
