Ms. Lucas

Ms. JoAnn Cleveland Lucas, age 77 of Rockmart, passed away Monday, Oct. 27, 2014.

Ms. Lucas was born on Sept. 11, 1937 in Taylorsville, the daughter of the late Henry Grover Cleveland and the late Lela Estell Popham Cleveland.

She was employed by the Aragon Mill for a number of years and later retired from the Southern Yarn Company. Ms. Lucas was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed life and family. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Mr. Horton Cleveland, Mr. Jackie Cleveland and Mr. Paul Cleveland; and three sisters, Mrs. Frances Gentry, Mrs. Amogene Thompson and Mrs. Ruth Stansell.

Survivors included a daughter, Robin Bishop Cain and her husband Arnie of Rockmart; son, Robert Lee “Shane” Lucas of Rockmart; sister, Betty Marie Agan of Aragon; and four grandchildren, Haley Bishop, Alex Bishop, Cody Lucas and Nicholas Lucas.

Funeral graveside and interment services for Ms. Lucas were held on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 4:30 p.m. in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were: Arnie Cain, Alex Bishop, Nicolas Lucas and Scotty Cleveland.

Serving as honorary pallbearers: Michael Thompson, Don Agan, Cody Lucas and Ricky Goss.
