Tallatoona CAP, Inc. has announced there is no waiting and no lines for eligible individual­s receiving LIPHEAP heating assistance.

Senior households, 65 and older, can schedule an appointmen­t via the website at www.tallatoona­cap.org or by calling the appointmen­t line.

Homebound individual­s can schedule an appointmen­t by calling 770-8174666 or toll free (706 area code) at 770-773-7730.

The public can schedule an appointmen­t on the website or calling the appointmen­t line beginning Dec. 1, 2014.

Appointmen­ts are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Those seeking help are asked not to walk into the local Tallatoona CAP office seeking an appointmen­t. Staff cannot schedule appointmen­ts for heating assistance.

The Polk Historical Society is selling ribbons for $1.00 and ornaments for $5.00 to place on the “In Memory and Honor Tree”. The tree will be placed behind the Historical Society during the month of December.

Visitors will be able to view ornaments any time at the Polk County Historical Society Fountain Garden.

Polk Board of Health will meet at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Polk County Health Department, 125 East Ware Street, Cedartown.

Southside Baptist Church, 409 Cobb Street, Cedartown, Ga. will be in revival starting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9.
