Concert in The Arts Center on Dec. 6-7

This holiday event will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and 2 p. m. Sunday, Dec. 7, in The Arts Center Theatre, 116 East Elm Street, Rockmart.

RCAC Art Gallery “Holiday Gift Shop” It is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p. m. Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 20, 2014. Shop locally this year and support the artists.

Instructor Jan Stone is teaching this ancient form of art dating back thousands of years. It consists of the placement of small stones, glass or tiles to form patterns or designs on a surface.
In the Mosaic Tile Art for beginner’s class, you will learn the basics of mosaic art. This includes the development of designs using the direct method of installation.
Class objective is to learn what materials are suitable for mosaic art, how to develop a pattern, basic mosaic installation techniques, grouting techniques.
This class is for ages 8 to adults, and home school students are welcome to participate.
Cost for the class is $20.00 per person plus $12.00 supply fee, $32.00 tuition.
The instructor will supply all of the materials needed for the mosaic tile class, which are available as a morning or evening workshop.
The workshops will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. December 1 and 3.
Workshops are also available from 9 to 11 a.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. December 15 and 17.
