Our House seeking supplies to help shelter residents

- From staff reports

The Our House Women’s Shelter is looking for some help in making sure the women and children in their care have what they need.

The shelter is hoping locals will help purchase and donate supplies for a Wish List Drive.

Our House is Polk County’s battered women and children’s shelter. According to a release for the drive,

Many who seek shelter at Our House “come with only the clothes on their backs or whatever they’ve managed to hurriedly stuff into a bag as they escape an abusive situation.”

The Our House is hoping those needs will be filled through the donation drive continuing until this month.

The City of Cedartown is hosting a donation area in the lobyy of city hall, and are asking people to bring items in to donate by Nov. 26.

Refer to the sidebar for more information about what to donate.
