‘Small Town Life’ artists’ reception slated for Sunday

You are invited to attend the “Small Town Life” artists’ opening reception from 1 to 3 p. m. Sunday, April 19 at the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center Art Gallery, 316 North Piedmont Avenue Building 300, Rockmart.

Artists are showing their pride of living in small towns by depicting life in or around communities l i ke Rockmart. The exhibit opened on Friday, April 10. It will be open from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. Fridays and Saturdays until the closing date on May 30th.

Featured artists are Cindy Karer Barrow. Ted Buckenham. Lura Camp, Paul Craighead, Pat Gore, Rebecca Grimes, Sally Hagge, James Hill, Holly McHaggee, Laura Robinson, RoseMarie Scheel, Dede Grier Spinks, Jan Stone, Susan Waters, Larinda Wilken and Horton Young.

Admission to the Art Gallery is always free, and everyone is invited to attend.

Call for artists Are you an artist who missed the deadline for “Small Town Life”? Visual Arts Chair Laura Robinson and the Visual Arts Committee have sent out the next call to artists age 18 and up.

“Feng Shui” Artists are invited to submit photographs ( up to 5) pieces for the exhibit. The timeline is: May 17 - Deadline for submissions ( photos only)

May 25 - Notification of selections

May 30 - Deliver art ( 4 - 6 pm)

May 31 - Deliver art ( 1 - 3 pm)

June 5 - Opening of “Feng Shui”

June 14 Afternoon ( 1- 3 pm)

July 18 - Last day of exhibit

July 18 - Saturday pick up art ( 4 - 6pm)

July 19 - Sunday pick up art ( 1 - 3 pm) - Sunday Reception
