Po­lice seek­ing help find­ing Citgo armed rob­bery sus­pect

Po­lice are ask­ing for help in iden­ti­fy­ing a man who com­mit­ted an armed rob­bery at a Buchanan High­way store on Thurs­day morn­ing last week.

Ac­cord­ing to Polk County Po­lice Depart­ment Det. B. Brady, the rob­bery oc­curred around 7:40 a.m. at the Citgo Con­ve­nience Store, lo­cated at 1410 Buchanan Hwy. on Sept. 3, just out­side the Cedartown city lim­its.

The sus­pect is de­scribed as a white male in all black cloth­ing wear­ing a mask. The vic­tim of the rob­bery told po­lice they were able to see the sus­pect’s eyes, be­lieved to be blue-green in color.

Brady said in a brief re­lease that the sus­pect was able to flee the scene in a sil­ver or gray ve­hi­cle trav­el­ing north on Main Street.

“Thank­fully no one was in­jured dur­ing this in­ci­dent,” Brady said.

As of Mon­day, Sept. 7, no ar­rests had been made in the case.

“The case re­mains un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion for the time be­ing,” Dodd said.
