Bonito gives presentation; EVHS plans memorial program in October
Patrick Bonito, Jr. Boy Scout Pack 23, which meets in Rockmart on Monday nights, recently gave a presentation to members of Euharlee Valley His t o r i c a l Society (EVHS).
Patrick presented a pictorial and talking presentation about the work the group has completed at historic Van Wert Church, a project of EVHS. EVHS members expressed thanks to Patrick and his father for the presentation and work of the Scout group, which included filling holes on the property.
Additionally, Brenda Gray presented the group with funds she has raised by selling cookies and jellies. The money will be used in the restoration project at the church.
During the business session, the group discussed plans for the annual Sons of the Confederacy memorial program in October. More details will be announced during the group’s September meeting.
Other items tabled for the next meeting are:
Sign for front of church to be made by Charlie Craig
Installation of stained glass window, donated by Carol Crook, in bay at front of church
The yard sale was delayed until the spring since more items and planning is needed.
The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 24, 2015 at Rockmart Chamber of Commerce.
