Forsyth family reunion slated

-

The Forsyth family will gather for their 32nd reunion at Friendship Baptist Church, Braswell Mountain Road near Rockmart, on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015.

Established in 1883 by Forsyth ancestors, Friendship Church has adequate parking space, a large pavilion and is set in a scenic wooded area. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. with services inside the sanctuary scheduled at 11 o’clock.

The program can vary from year to year, but usually includes introduction of first time attendees and a call to prayer for survivors of those who have died during the past year. This year, more emphasis will be on celebrating lives lived and survivors who remember. Current prayer requests are honored.

Music is showcased with a family member featured on the back of the program.

During the meeting, a bed comforter embroidered with the Forsyth family crest will be presented to the family with the most members present. The comforter is to be used and returned the following year to be awarded again.

Several younger members of the family will assist Kenneth Forsyth, president. They will be supported by the Planning Committee, which meets during the year to finalize details.

Everyone is invited to attend. For more information about the reunion, contact Nell Bobo, 770463-9655; Dan Forsyth, 770-684-4701 or Mary Faye Sharpe, 770-684-6042.
