New books available at the library

- Leonard and Kay Brogdon of Cedartown displayed a variety of products, which they brought to the market Thursday. Shoppers were interested in their display of muscadines, tomatoes and chrysanthe­mums.

Fall greens are arriving and the Mums are blooming at the Rockmart Farmers Market from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursdays through October 29.

Tender baby mustard greens and turnip salad are being harvested along with the first of the fall arugula, bok choy, kale, turnip greens, and lettuces.

Valley Flowers is bringing their beautiful mum’s to market along with muscadines and scuppernon­gs. Wax beans and several varieties of green beans are making their fall appearance along with the second crops of cucumbers and radishes.

Red and green tomatoes along with the final harvests of okra are available and wide varieties of peppers are abundant. Eggplant, both Asian and Italian, are plentiful and field peas are abundant. Several varieties of apples including the wonderful Honeycrisp apple are available at market and will continue to increase over the next few weeks.

Along with all the veggies baked good, canned goods, pork and chicken, and honey can be found at market. In season recipes can be found at the manager’s booth or on the website RockmartFa­rmersMarke­t.com.

The Cedartown Library is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
