Mr. Brantley

Mr. Shannon Scott Brantley, age 42, of Rockmart passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 in a Rome medical center following a brief illness.

He was born in Rome on Feb. 5, 1973, a son of L.C. Brantley II and Barbara Swann Brantley.

Mr. Brantley had lived all of his life in Polk County and was of the Baptist faith. He was a former employee of Jefferson Southern.

He was preceded in death by grandparen­ts, Bud and Edna Swann, L.C. Brantley, Elsie Brantley Mock and Thelma Turner; nephew, Avery Brantley and step brother, Stacey Welchel.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara Swann Brantley, Rockmart; father, L.C. Brantley, II and Ruby Brantley, Seney; brother, Eric Brantley, Rockmart; sister, Jodi Brantley Bradford and husband Billy Joe, Cedartown; step sister, Rhonda Holt, Lexington; step brothers: Steve Welchel, Seney, Keith Welchel, Cedartown and Samy Welchel, Cedartown; nieces, Kaitlynn Brantley, Libbie Bradford; nephew, Brighton Bradford; great nephew, Tucker Brantley and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Diggs and Rev. Jimmy Driskall officiatin­g.

Interment is set for Rose Hill Cemetery at a later date.

Pallbearer­s included: Larry Turner, Scott Turner, Billy Joe Bradford, Linda Koone, Billy Williams, Kaleb Brantley, Brighton Bradford, Douglas Brantley, Robert Mock and Dustin Ray Ferguson.

The Alvis Miller and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangemen­ts.
