Mr. William H. “Corky” Hindman, age 88, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.

Mr. Hindman was born on Feb. 14, 1927 in Chattanoog­a, Tenn., to his parents, the late Hobart and Aliza Holder Hindman.

He was a veteran, proudly serving with the United States Army during World War II. Corky was a longtime member of the Wimberly Hill Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon and as a Sunday School Class Teacher for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Dennis Hindman; brothers, Larry Hindman and Willard Hindman and sisters, Virginia Poe and Inez Brooks.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife, Mrs. Jo Hindman; his Daughter in law, Joy Hindman; sons and daughters in law, Terry and Pam Hindman and Wally and Ann Hindman; his daughter and son in law, Tammy and David Bush ; his brother, Harold Hindman; seven grandchild­ren, thirteen great grandchild­ren, one great-great grandchild, nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Corky Hindman were conducted on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the Wimberly Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Wright officiatin­g.

Interment followed in the Polk Memory Gardens With Rev. Bud Davis and full military honors conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland Post 86 Honor Guard.

The family received friends on Wednesday evening, Sept. 16, 2015 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home.

Mr. Hindman was allowed to Lie in State at Wimberly Hill Baptist Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributi­ons can be made in Corky’s memory to either Amedysis Hospice Care, 12B Felton Place, Cartersvil­le, Ga., 30120 or to the Wimberly Hill Baptist Church of Cedartown.

The following are asked to serve as Pallbearer­s: Jeremy Hindman Nicholas Hindman, Kevin Bush, Chane Miller, Jeffery Baker and Cecil Reddish.
