Forsyth reunion held; memorial program given

An i nteresting program, centering around the lives of 11 family members and their survivors, was presented during the 32nd annual Forsyth Reunion.

The featured group i ncluded William Hugh Shepard, Joe Allen Morris, Irene White Forsyth, Roger Joe Bone, Perry Bone, Travis C. Tant, Jennifer Hicks Potter, Deane Fennell Coffman, Dorothy Hayes, Tom W. Clark, and Ruby Tant Oliver.

Friendship Baptist Church, Braswell Mountain Road in Paulding County, was the meeting place of the descendent­s of Elijah Rose Forsyth. He was one of the founders of the church, which is located in a wooded area off Braswell Mountain Road. It has a wellmainta­ined cemetery and plenty of parking spaces.

During the event, Kenneth Forsyth was re- elected president.

Genealogis­t Bill Sherwood of Clearwater, Fla. updated the group with changes in the 500page genealogy book. He provided copies to family members.

Daughters of Arlin Douglas Forsyth of Rockmart presented the program. They used charts of “work- ing tools” to depict phases of his life.

Harold McDurmon lead the group in repeating the Lord’s Prayer as the dismissal before lunch.

Picnic tables were laden by food, and the Rev. Ralph Bobo led in a thanksgivi­ng blessing. Thereafter, family members spent time in fellowship.
