Gas prices con­tinue down­ward trend, near­ing $2 mark in Polk

The price for a reg­u­lar gallon of un­leaded gas was down near the $2 mark in Cedartown, and still drop­ping lower in Rockmart but not as close over the week­end ac­cord­ing to

Prices at sta­tions in Cedartown were down to $2.03 and $2.06 a gallon for reg­u­lar gas, and up­ward of $2.12, ac­cord­ing to the site.

Rockmart prices were still above $2.10 a gallon, but still com­ing down. Most prices were around $2.11 a gallon at some sta­tions, and up­ward of $2.14 a gallon at some sta­tions.

In sur­round­ing ar­eas, prices were as low as $1.95 in Rome, $1.99 in Bremen, and $2.05 a gal- lon in Cartersville. The state av­er­age in Ge­or­gia was at $2.15 a gallon. The low­est prices in the coun­try were at $1.95 a gallon in South Carolina.

Mis­sis­sippi, Alabama, New Jersey and Louisiana were all in the top five of low­est gas prices in the na­tion, rang­ing from $1.95 to $1.97 a gallon.
