Glow run coming to Cedartown on Saturday

The annual Cedartown Glow Run is coming this weekend to downtown streets, and the early registrati­on deadline has come and gone.

Assistant director Joe Colquitt said that this is the last week to get registrati­ons in for the annual Glow Run through downtown Cedartown on Nov. 8.

“Although you can sign up the day of, the price will go up and a t-shirt will not be guaranteed after Saturday, Oct. 31,” he said.

This event benefits both Cedartown Rec and children and youth of the First United Methodist Church of Cedartown, which is helping with planning for the event.

Colquitt said the run will start in front of the church on Wissahicko­n after dark on Sunday, Nov. 8.

Colquitt said basketball registrati­on for the coming winter season with the recreation department is underway, and that late registrati­ons - with a increased fee - will be accepted through Nov. 4.

Boys and girls from ages 5 through 12 are eligible to be registered for teams this season.

However, to get the early registrati­on price of $30 per child to play, parents need to go on

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. to the Nathan Dean Gym at the Bert Wood Park to turn in forms.

Forms and payment will be taken from Nov. 5 through Nov. 26.

Late registrati­on which is $35 per child - will be taken from Nov. 27 through Dec. 4.

Colquitt said the recreation department is also finalizing their plants for All-Star football in Cedartown.
