day to get better and better, which is what they have accomplished this season,” she said.

“If they have to do the stunt sequence or pyramid 25 times over and over at practice to get every element perfect and with perfect timing, they will do just that. They amaze me with the willingness to perfect their routine and the hard work they put into the effort,” Tillery said.

Assistant coach Hillary Ruff added “although we are proud of them every week at competition, this week we are super proud for their attitudes and effort in taking the mats with confidence and the will to win again this year.”

This marks the third region championship for Cedartown cheerleaders in the past 4 years. Tillery said the seniors of this squad have all been a part of three of these squads, and want to see the Lady Bulldogs come home with a win.

“This squad won 5 of 6 invitationals this season and won region, but they still realize they have work to do in the field house this week to perform well and to the best of their athletic abilities at State Finals,” Tillery siad. “That is exactly what we are ready to do, to push this squad to practice their routine this week until all elements of the routine are better than they were at Region.”

Central took a second place finish in the region, followed by Pepperell and Callaway in the final two spots.

The cheerleaders are headed to Columbus Coliseum for State Finals on Saturday at 9 a.m. for a final routine performance. Second through fourth place in the region compete first on Friday to earn a spot in the final day’s placement.
