Cedartown startup Off-the-Wall Paints new product

From Press Release

-

Off-the-Wall Paints, a start-up headquartered in Cedartown, is launching the first ever line of fully removable interior latex paint. The product acts as traditional paint until a remover is applied, allowing the surface to simply be wiped clean with no damage, trace or residue. Off-the-Wall will start selling this month to commercial businesses, distributors and to consumers directly.

Delaine Rogers, inventor of Off the Wall is a special education teacher with a degree in Chemistry. Rogers originally developed the product for use in special needs classrooms, but soon realized the potential for a broader market.

“I saw a need to create environments where students would excel and respond and I wasn’t able to give them what they needed. Until now. With our paint you can change the classroom to meet the needs of the students whenever you want. I see this being used on military bases, in dorm rooms and apartment complexes. The sky’s the limit, really,” said Rogers.

A study published by Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies revealed that homeownership is at an eight year low. However, the number of new rental households increased by 770,000 annually since 2004. The housing trend may speak to the rising interest in Off-the-Wall. Since recently winning a Small Business Administration contest hosted by Kennesaw State University, the company is quickly gaining local and regional attention.
