Chamber holds first ‘Talk’ session
Focus to provide better marketing, bring new business to Polk high among items on Chamber’s to-do list
April Welsh, new chair of the Polk County Chamber of Commerce, recently led a lively “talk session” in the organization’s Rockmart office, 133 South Marble Street.
The Chamber Talk is one of the new 2016 initiatives and is designed to get members and community partners involved in a roundtable discussion of ideas and topics.
A similar session was scheduled in Cedartown at 609 South Main Street. Additional meetings are scheduled at 6 p.m. May 23, August 10, September 19, November 6 and December 19.
Welsh reminded the group of the Chamber’s 2016 theme, “Promoting Prosperity!”
“We understand the importance of partnerships. We know collaborations allow us to increase our effectiveness,” she said. “The Chamber will lead by example in promoting teamwork and mutually beneficial outcomes for all who live and do business here.”
During the talk session, she invited those present to place ideas for discussion on the table.
“Your candidness and insight on ways to help improve the quality of life in Polk County are invaluable,” she said.
